Mind-Body Medicine
Dr. Huertas
Mind-Body Medicine offers a comprehensive approach to stress management and resilience building. By exploring the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit, Dr. Huertas empowers individuals to address a wide range of stress-related conditions. Through evidence-based techniques such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Progressive Muscle Relaxation, Autogenics, Breath Work, Meditation, herbs/supplements, and Biofeedback, we cultivate the brain's neuroplasticity to foster positive change. With consistent practice, clients develop heightened self-awareness. This allows for more intentional responses to life’s challenges as individuals learn to choose to live in alignment with their values.
HOW DOES THIS WORK:
All thanks to neuroplasticity! Neuroplasticity is the brain’s natural tendency to change and re-wire itself – the more you use certain pathways the stronger they get, and the less you use certain pathways the weaker they get. Your brain is just like a muscle in this way. The treatments we use strengthen a very specific part of the brain that allows you to be calm, open, curious, and compassionate during stress. So, instead of reacting to a stressor, you are responding to it in ways that align with your values and how you want to show up in the world.
